Phuphing Palace



Built in 1961 and located close to Wat Phra Thart Doi Suthep on Doi Buak Ha overlooking Chiang Mai, Phuhping Palace mainly serves as the royal winter residence and occasionally as a place where the royal family welcomes prominent State visitors from abroad.
Nearby the main royal palace are several smaller residential buildings and a shrine housing a Buddha image for the royal prayer (Hor Phra). Most impressive, though, are the beautifully landscaped gardens and the abundance of all sorts of colorful flowers leading the way throughout the entire site, peaking in the Rose Garden (Suan Suwaree). Elevated on a plateau overlooking the lush green Fern Garden is the water reservoir, where the sight of fountains and lavish flower decorations combines with the sound of subtle music to create a unique atmosphere of joy, peace and romance.
Phuphing Palace is the most beautiful during the cold season (December through Feburary) when flowers are in full blossom. As such, it may be the ideal destination on Valentines day. The gates are open to visitors everyday from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

1961年に建てられプーピンパレスはチェンマイを見下ろすドイブアックハのドイステープ寺の近くにあります。宮殿は王族が北タイへの季節訪問の間とどまる冬の住居です。
それと両陛下が時折海外からの重要な国賓を歓迎する場所として用いられます。宮殿の近くには小さな住居用の建物（ログハウス）やホープラと呼ばれる王族がお祈りのための仏像が納められた聖堂があります。特に美しく整備された庭とでは豊富でカラフルな花が全て至る所に通じている先端のローズガーデン（スワンスワリー）は注目に値します。青々とした緑を見渡している高原のファーン庭園の上は、貯水池になっていて、噴水と贅沢な花の装飾の光景は微妙な音楽の音と結び付いて、喜び、平和とロマンスの独特の空気をつくっています。プーピンパレスの最も美しい季節は花が満開になる冬の間（12月～2月）の間です。毎日8時半から夕方4時半まで開放されています。


Arunothai



Located on the Thai-Burmese border about 45km north of Chiang Dao on the foot of the mountains leading up to Doi Ankhang, Arunothai boasts a unique atmosphere due to its diverse population of Chinese, Thai and Burmese origin. The first settlers being personnel of the former Kuomintang Party in mainland China, the town bears a strong Chinese character, as reflected in people’s lifestyles and language. Arunothai has in the past earned a bad reputation as a notorious drug-trafficking center. Since the implementation of harsh rules by the Thai army, though, the narcotics trade has decreased remarkably and the town has turned into a peaceful community where people earn their living from the trade of goods and agricultural products. Arunothai is well worth as visit, to shop for Chinese goods such as desserts and tea, or to take a relaxing walk around the beautiful lake in the center of town.

ドイアンカーンの先のふもとタイとミャンマーの国境付近にあるアルーノタイは、主に中国を起源とする人々が居住している為に独特の雰囲気を持っています。最初の移民は中国本土からの旧国民党の党員たちで、町は人々のライフスタイルと言語で反映された漢字であふれています。アルーノタイは過去に悪名高い麻薬の密売の中心地としての悪評をもたらしていました。しかしその後タイ軍の厳しい指導により麻薬の取引は際立って減少しました。そして町は商品取引と農産品から生計を立て、静かなコミュニティに変わりました。アルーノタイは中国の商品、例えばデザートとお茶を買うか、町の中央のすばらしい湖のまわりでリラックスしながら散歩をする為に訪れるのにたいへん価値があります。


Muang Na Nua Caves



Just about 20km outside of Arunothai on the way to Muang Nga, off the main road at Muang Na, is the Muang Na Nua cave system, made up of the Chaeng-Pa Hok, Lom, Ngam and Nam caves. All being different in structure and challenging to walk through, these limestone caves may be a great opportunity for cave enthusiasts to explore in tranquility without being surrounded by dozens of other visitors.

ちょうどアルーノタイから20ｋｍ外側のムアン・ヌアへ行く途中で、ムアン・ヌアの大通りから離れており、ムアン・ナ・ヌア洞窟系で、チャン―パ・ホック、ロム、ガムとナム洞穴から成り立っています。すべて構造が異なるので、挑戦して歩いてみましょう。これらの石灰岩の洞穴は洞穴マニアが大勢の他の訪問客によって囲まれることなく静かに探検する大きな機会があるかもしれません。


Sri Sungwan Waterfall

Located about 15km south of Arunothai, Sri Sung Wan waterfall is part of the vast Chiang Dao National Park, named after H.R.H. The Princess Mother who once had lunch here in 1967.
Unlike most steep waterfalls found elsewhere in the North, Sri Wang Wan runs smoothly over multiple levels of limestone rocks, providing a calming view and a nice place to relax. Further into the park are a lovely herb and flower garden, as well as a nature trail for a challenging 2-hour walk through the surrounding forest. Those who want to stay overnight can set up their tents on the campground just a few steps from the waterfall.

アルーノタイの南15Km にあるシリ・スンワン滝は広大なチェンダオ国立公園の一部で1967年に皇太后がここで昼食をとられたことから名前がつけられました。

北部のその他の場所で見られるような急な滝とちがってシリスンワンは濃密度の石灰岩により滑らかに流れ、静かでリラックスできる場所です。さらに奥には周囲の森を2時間かけて歩く自然遊歩道があるだけでなくハーブや花のガーデンがあります。またそこに宿泊したい人には滝から数歩のキャンプ場でテントを借りることができます。

Pong Ung Hot Spring

Nearby Sri Sungwan Waterfall off the main road at ….. is Pong Ung Hotspring, a rather small and quiet hot spring ideal for a few hours of relaxation. This natural hot spring has 2 ponds with the water temperature reaching 58-64 degrees Celsius. Visitors can have mineral and stream baths outside, with shower and hygienic facilities being just a step away. The campgrounds onsite allow for inexpensive overnight stays in rented tents.

シリスンワン滝の近くの大通りから離れたところにポン・ウン温泉はあります。2・3時間リラックスするのには理想的な小さくて静かな温泉です。この自然温泉は、摂氏58-64度に達している水温で、2つの池を持っています。訪問者は屋外でミネラルで小川の風呂に入ることができます。すぐそばには衛生的な施設でシャワーを浴びることができます。キャンプ地では貸しテントで格安に泊まることができます。
